Dorfold Hall Wedding Photography, Cheshire

Lydia & Alex’s Dorfold Hall Wedding

Located on the outskirts of the Nantwich, Cheshire, Dorfold Hall is a true luxury wedding venue. Combining a 17th century stately home with the beautiful contemporary space of L’ecurie, newly built with weddings in mind. Dorfold’s endless gardens, and magnificent backdrops from every angle mean it has been on my bucket list for a while. Especially as my closest wedding venue too! I’ve been counting down the days until I got to shoot Lydia and Alex’s big day, and it did not disappoint, as I finally joined them for their Dorfold Hall wedding photography!

I always love arriving at a new venue and scoping out areas for photographs. I couldn’t have asked for better options when arriving at Dorfold Hall. It’s probably possible to shoot 100 weddings here and still find new spots and corners for gorgeous portraits – Dorfold Hall doesn’t know a bad angle. I love the backdrops of the older brick buildings, especially the clock tower, the colourful gardens and the blue doors of the coach house that we used for some bridal party portraits! Dorfold Hall has the option for wedding ceremonies to be indoors in the coach house, or outdoors on the house lawn, meaning you can choose the perfect setting for your day!

Golden Hour Wedding Photography By The Lake

In the summer the sun sets in the perfect spot over the lake at Dorfold Hall for golden hour photographs, and Lydia & Alex got to head back out and make use of the lakeside areas, catching the golden hour light just as it hit the water, lighting up the lily pads along the edge of the main drive, absolutely gorgeous!

What if it rains at our Dorfold Hall Wedding?

With the typical British weather as it is, we all know there is no guarantee of a full day of sunshine on your wedding day. Dorfold is a perfect wet weather venue, with indoor and outdoor options for ceremonies, drinks reception and photographs. Portraits and group photos can be done in the main house L’ecurie, the coach house, or if you’re happy to embrace it, outside with umbrellas. There’s no need to compromise on stunning wedding photographs at Dorfold Hall.

Confetti at Dorfold Hall

Dorfold Hall kindly ask that only fresh or freeze-dried petals are used as confetti, as these are biodegradable and much kinder to both the environment and the estate. If you’re planning on a confetti shot my advice is to have someone on hand to help pass out the confetti as guests leave the ceremony, and more is more when it comes to great confetti pics! Big handfuls, high in the air!

Can we bring our dog to our Dorfold Hall wedding?

Dogs are allowed for the ceremony and reception drinks and must be on a lead at all times.  Due to the delicate nature of the historic house and associated cottages, their fabric and the artefacts within, pets are unable to stay overnight; however, dog sitters and chaperones such as Precious Pets are a great idea.

Accomodation

Dorfold can accommodate up to 20 guests in a number of sumptuous bedrooms and cottages.
