Dorfold Hall Wedding Photography – Louise and Ryan

There are soo many reasons that Dorfold Hall is one of my favourite Cheshire wedding venues, and the fact it’s only a few miles from my house is just one of them! I absolutely love working at Dorfold and was over the moon when Louise and Ryan booked me for their summer wedding after I photographed a number of their friends weddings.

Tucked away on the edge of Nantwich, and surrounded by 800 acres of gardens, woods and parkland, it’s easy to see why Dorfold Hall is one of Cheshire’s most popular wedding venues. A grand, sweeping driveway lined with towering trees leads you to the gates of an impressive Jacobean Hall, dating back to the 1600s.

Weddings at Dorfold Hall, Cheshire

Louise and Ryan’s day was amazing, from the moment I arrived I was made so welcome and I really did feel like one of the family.

I joined Louise at her aunt’s (incredibleeeee!) house, where she was getting ready. Surrounded by her family and bridesmaids, the morning was filled with laughter. They enjoyed champagne around the indoor swimming pool before heading back to the main house for makeup touch ups and to get ready. I loved the sage green Louise had chosen for her bridesmaid dresses. They went perfectly with the cream flowers.

One of my favourite moments of the day was when Louise’s bridesmaids saw her for the first time. There were gasps, tears and huge smiles. Safe to say, they thought she looked incredible!

Over at St Anne’s Catholic Chuch, Ryan and his groomsmen looked great in their black tie. He was a little nervous before Louise arrived, but as soon as she walked down the aisle towards him his face lit up in a huge smile. The two of them were just so excited to be married, they couldn’t stop grinning throughout the ceremony! As a side note, the priest at St Anne’s is so lovely. He popped into Louise and Ryan’s wedding reception for a drink and came over to let me know that our photo team had been so discreet and respectful during the service, and that he’d love to have us back for more weddings! It’s always great to receive feedback like that, especially from someone so important in the day.

Romantic, elegant wedding in Cheshire

While their guests congregated in Dorfold Hall’s beautiful gardens – and enjoyed some fizz and delicious canapes – I stole Louise and Ryan away for a few portraits in front of the grand entrance. The light was beautiful, they had a glass of champers to hand and the newlyweds were able to have a few moments alone together. Perfect!

Then it was time for Louise and Ryan to fully relax and spend time with their loved ones. I’d first met Louise when she was a guest at a previous wedding I shot, and it was lovely to catch up with not one but two of my past couples on the day. (and have since booked one of her bridesmaids too, I LOVE it when I get to work in the same groups of friends over and over!)

Louise and Ryan had put so much thought into their wedding – from an amazing singer in the gardens, through to a live illustrator in the courtyard. I also got to try out the brilliant and unique 360 Photobooth which was a lot of fun! Check out the gif below to see it in action – and then carry on scrolling to see my favourites from Louise and Ryan’s amazing day.
