Combermere Abbey Wedding Photography – Tegan and Liam
I’m over the moon whenever I get to shoot at one of my favourite wedding venues, Combermere Abbey on the Shropshire / Cheshire border. It’s super local to me which is brilliant but, more importantly, it’s an incredible venue surrounded by the most beautiful gardens
Now, if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m very much in my ‘gardening era’ so, as you can imagine, I am in my element there. Of course, my garden is nothing like the endless grounds, flawless lawns and bright florals at Combermere but a girl can dream right?!
A Light and Airy Wedding at Combermere Abbey
Tegan and Liam are the loveliest couple. They are so in love with each other and Liam couldn’t take his eyes off his bride throughout the ceremony. It was very cute!
I began the morning with Tegan who was being pampered in Keepers Cottage. Newly renovated last year, Keepers Cottage is the ultimate in luxury and tranquillity. Ideal for getting ready on the morning of the wedding. I love how much space there is for bridesmaids, hair, makeup and me! Once everyone is ready it’s just a short stroll through the fruit maze up to the Glasshouse for the wedding ceremony.
Tegan looked absolutely stunning in her classic bridal gown. I absolutely adore the moment that her Dad saw her for the first time in her wedding dress. He looked so proud of his girl and they both struggled to keep their emotions in check. I feel so privileged to be part of such incredibly intimate, special moments between families – whether that’s a first look, being up front for the wedding ceremony or witnessing a couple having a few moments together just after they’ve said their vows.
Stunning Glasshouse ceremony at Combermere Abbey
The Glasshouse at Combermere is a gorgeous ceremony venue. Natural light pours in through the ceiling to floor windows, it’s surrounded by a luscious fruit maze and Combermere have really ‘brought the outside in’ with the addition of a decorative blossom tree right in the centre of the Glasshouse. It makes for a beautifully unique backdrop to a wedding ceremony.
Liam and his groomsmen were so dapper in their black tie. Liam was full of nerves as he waited for Tegan to arrive, but his face lit up into a huge smile as soon as he set eyes on his bride. They’d written their own vows to each other and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house as they held hands and read them aloud.
Tegan and Liam’s whole day was elegant and romantic, perfectly set off by flowers and florals from Florist By Nature. Sue is fantastic and I love working alongside her – so much so that we recently collaborated on a beautiful styled shoot (also at Combermere Abbey), inspired by Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2024, Peach Fuzz.
Tegan and Liam had opted for simple, classic decor which looked fab against the huge windows and blue colour scheme of The Pavilion.
After some portraits around the gardens, we had a wander down to the Abbey itself for a few more photos. I was working alongside Jack Smithies Films for the first time, and we made a great team. Bouncing ideas of each other and making sure Tegan and Liam felt relaxed and happy.
I adored being a part of Tegan and Liams’ day. If you’re planning your own Combermere Abbey wedding then I would love to chat to you about your plans.
